The star walk of the Trièves. The boat drops you on the far side of the lake; you walk back across the two suspension bridges spanning the Drac gorge (220 m) and the Ebron gorge (180 m), 80 m above the water.
TerrainA waymarked mid-mountain path, not very technical. Muddy and slippery in wet weather.
Water & shadeOnly one water point halfway round, and limited shade. Hat, sun cream, 1.5 L of water.
Good to knowDogs allowed (boat + footbridges). Not recommended if you suffer from vertigo.
Getting there
~35–40 min from the house, on the Trièves side. Start at the Treffort boat landing (the “Le Môle” building); Combettes / beach / Salette car parks (paid May–Oct). La Mira boat → Mayres-Savel: May–Sept, ~€8 per adult, booking required at la-mira.com.
